ParentShield offer two different type of SIMs, we have both an All – Network SIM as well as an EE Specific Network SIM.
What Does This Mean for Upgrading and Downgrading?
When deciding which SIM tariff to move to, it is important to ensure that you’re looking at the right plan for your child’s SIM.
Our ‘Roam Stage’ plans are for users with an All – Network SIM card. If your child is already on a Roam Stage plan, moving to another plan within this range is simple and does not require a new SIM.
Whilst our ‘Safe Stage’ plans are for users with an EE Specific Network SIM card. Like our Roam Stage plans, switching between Safe Stage plans is easy and can be done at any time without needing a new SIM.
How Can I Upgrade?
Our team of programmers have been working hard on the ParentShield Portal as of recent to make upgrading simple. There is now a universal button that lets both Roam Stage and Safe Stage SIM users upgrade instantly, giving you access to the new allowances right away.
If you prefer the traditional route, upgrading can be done just as easy by contacting us. Please let us know the SIM tariff you want to move to, and we’ll take care of the rest.
We also understand that upgrading isn’t always the best choice. Sometimes downgrading may be more suitable for your Child’s needs. While downgrades aren’t available through the Portal yet, just reach out to us and we’ll make sure your SIM tariff is adjusted to your specific needs.
Wondering How to Switch Between Safe and Roam Stage Plans?
For current users on the Safe Stage plans wanting to move over to the Roam Stage plans, please do give us a call on 0330 122 1180 and we will get you sorted. It is important to note, we would not be able to port your existing number over to the Roam Stage SIM.
For users currently on the All – Network SIM wanting to upgrade onto one of our EE SIMs, we have multiple different ways to do so. Whether that be via the ‘Upgrade Now’ button in the ParentShield Portal, by giving us a call on 0330 122 1180 or with the form listed below. Unlike moving from a Safe Stage SIM to a Roam Stage SIM, switching from a Roam Stage SIM to one of our Safe Stage SIMs allows you to keep your child’s existing phone number. This makes the transition smooth and hassle free, with no disruption to their contacts. Before making any decisions, we would advise checking EE coverage in your area.
