Opting for a Plusnet SIM card will be an EE SIM card as Plusnet is an MVNO of EE. As you would imagine, this accesses EE’s network coverage and infrastructure for a cheaper price than that of going to EE directly.
Plusnet is an EE MVNO
Putting the kids on the Plusnet Mobile Network is exactly the same as putting them on an EE SIM Only plan. This allows access to EE’s signal coverage and network infrastructure, so if you’re in an area where coverage from another network is required, the same will be said of a Plusnet SIM only deal.
Upgrading coverage to include all networks
If you are wanting more than just the EE Coverage, simply select one of our All – Network Roaming SIMs at checkout. This SIM will be able to provide EE Coverage, whilst also being able to automatically switch over to another if necessary. Providing the best possible coverage.
Is Plusnet Mobile the best SIM card for kids?
If your motivation is price driven, and taking into account EE’s excellent coverage, it possibly is. But if you’re looking for added network features to protect your child, possibly not.
The ParentShield customer service team is inundated with parents covering off the pre-sales questions and large data bundles isn’t one of the desired topics – quite the contrary in fact. The majority of parents that our team speak with either want mobile data completely disabled, or a small amount to locate the phone and to check bus timetables etc; given that the majority of usage for younger children will be using the home Wifi.
Plusnet Mobile eSIM
Plusnet aren’t currently providing eSIM’s, but if you are hunting for an eSIM for kids, ParentShield have made them available.
