Fantastic service. The information provided on the website is exactly what is then offered, and it was clear and easy to set up. I would also add that technical support and advice I have received since (due to issues with security settings on the phone itself, and not due to parentshield), has been exemplary - swift, detailed, above and beyond.

This is a must have for your child's mobile phone. A parent can add lots of restrictions so the mobile is more for emergencies than for playing games and using social media.

I am thrilled with what ParentShield can offer our family. The after-care has been outstanding. I had a few technical questions in the first week or two and used the chat function. Someone was always on hand immediately to guide me through and help me - even when the issue was related to the phone and not the service provider! Combining ParentShield with a very cheap and low functioning brick phone has achieved exactly what I wanted for my 11 year old: it has made the phone a boring piece of equipment that exists merely to be used when it can make her or my life easier and less stressful, rather than be an object of obsession or the time sapping bully-in-your-pocket that smart phones are to many adults, let alone young kids. Thank you.

We had an emergency and our calls did not get through to our daughter. Aside from this mishap (which I guess happens when your service rides on some telco provider's infrastructure), ParentShield offers a wide range of tools to manage what yor child does with her/his phone

As parents, we have found the whole mobile thing a daunting step, but Parentshield made the decision much easier. We opted for a basic Nokia 105, no bells ad whistles, no apps or internet. The push notifications, particularly given the phone, are an awesome feature, every time my son interacts with a new contact I get an immediate alert so I can see exactly who he is speaking with. The bedtime controls have proved to be very useful too as we don’t feel the need to confiscate the phone each night, knowing it’s all taken care of. The support team are incredibly knowledgeable too, I spoke to them a few time with our questions before ordering and they really put our mind at rest, it’s reassuring knowing there is someone there who knows what they are talking about and cares if you’re unsure of something. Overall we have been absolutely blown away with this service and view it as an essential step as a starting point for children.

It is a good place to start when allowing your child a mobile phone for the first time. My 10yr old has been pestering me for a phone since the start of year 5, when many of her friend already had phones and started walking to and from school by themselves. I managed to hold off until the start of Year 6, when I found there were occasions where her having a phone would be helpful (when she might want to look in a different part of a shop to me, or when she went away with her Grandmother) so I decided to try ParentShield sim after much research. It a good sim, for the most part she has a good signal except for near her school, which means she has to start walking before she is able to let me know she is on her way home (hence the 4 stars). I do think there is room for improvement also, as there is no tracking via the sim which is a shame (Google FamilyLink is recommended which requires data purchase and is a bit glitchy) and there is no assistance when it comes to any online apps (and only the ability to limit data usage if you purchase data). Here Google FamilyLink does help, but again, it has it limits. Overall, for a first time sim, it is a good idea but I think with the higher price and those lacking elements, it might not be a long term solution for many.
